Check In / Out
Since I prefer to have some time in between the rent-outs and am living in the same house, usually you can completely freely choose your time of arrival or departure. Just inform me ahead of time, so I can arrange that myself or someone will be there to welcome you and give you the keys.
Check-Out
In case you’re leaving and I should not be there, you can put the keys in the post-box of #17 (Bellio).
Getting here
The address: Liniengasse 29 in 1060 Wien (6th district, Mariahilf)
From the airport
The Bus Line VAB1 is leaving all 30 mins from the airport. Best is if you go up to WESTbahnhof. From there it is a short downhill walk to the place
By Train
If you are coming to Vienna by train and your final destination is Wien Hauptbahnhof, check if you have also a stop at Bahnhof Meidling a few minutes earlier. If that is the case, it will save you quite some time to get off there and take the U6 until Gumpendorfer Strasse (3 stops).
by Public Transport
Bus 57A Stop: Sonnenuhrgasse is the closest you can get by public transport. You just walk up Sonnenuhrgasse, you pass under the house and then in Liniengasse on the left side is our house.
U4 Margaretengürtel is also pretty close. I recommend taking the Exit Morizgasse, then crossing the bridge and the big street (Wienzeile), walking straight up to Gumpendorfer Strasse, turn left and then right into Sonnenuhrgasse …
U6 Gumpendorfer Strasse is also close. You Exit towards Gumpendorfer Strasse, cross the big street (Gürtel) turn left into Wallgasse, immediately right into Liniengasse and walk along. The house will be on your right side.
U3 & U6 Westbahnhof (and some local railways and Busses) When underground on the level of Burger King, Ströck and U3 Shop, look for Exit Innere Mariahilfer Strasse and then Millergasse. After coming up, turn right, then walk down Bürgerspitalgasse to end up in front of our house
by Bike
your bike will be safe if you park it in the courtyard in front of the studio
by Car
Parking on the street is very restricted in this area. If you ask in advance it might be possible to arrange a sublet in a nearby garage. Otherwise the best place for long term parking in the area is the Parking House at Westbahnhof. Of course you can stop in front of the house to unload, but close parking spots are for residents only. Most places in Vienna are easiest accessible by public transport or by bike so you won’t need your car here.
Access / doors
Please use the black key only to OPEN the front door and the central door of the courtyard (right lock). Never lock those doors.
To lock the door of the studio (with the second key), you have to push up the handle and then you can turn the key around to lock it.
while the correct # of the studio is 2A, at the front door intercom one has to ring #5 to reach the studio. you will have to walk to open the door from the courtyard though.
Inside the studio
Please take off your shoes
The floor is not sealed but oiled, so please be kind and don’t use your street shoes inside. you can find houseshoes in 2 sizes if needed.
WiFi Access

Just scan the QR Code with the device you want to connect.
If you (by sliding it up carefully) take the router from the wall, you can find the ID and the PW, but also a QR Code that you can scan to access the web via WiFi. Ethernet cable can be provided upon request.
The WiFi PW is: 61530482580048743098
Coffee
The Coffemachine’s brand is Cafissimo. You will find some capsules for your first coffees. If you want more or other varieties you can go to a special tschibo store of which some are nearby. but you can also find the capsules or compatibe ones in most supermarkets. Just take care that it says „kompatibel mit cafissimo“ – then it should work with this machine.

On the capsules you have indicated which button best to push for that type of coffee (left/middle/right)
! Put a cup before you are pushing the button!
Tea
You will find a very divers collection of teabags which you are welcome to use. also, if you have open tea, there is a special glass with a filter you can use for it.
Fresh herbs
Since the salad did not work out, i put herbs in the pot in front of the garden door. While the garden does not belong to us, the herbs do. You have fresh Basil and Thyme currently. If you stay longer than 2-3 days, please water them to keep them alive.
Cleaning the dishes
In the bathroom you will find a plastic bowl that you can put in the sink and use for washing the dishes without breaking them on the hard sink. For drying the dishes i recommend the black grid on the left side of the sink.
Ironing
I can provide an iron board and an iron but I am not storing the iron in the studio. If you need it, just let me know and i will put them inside.
Garbage

Most bottles and cans have a deposit of 25 cent/piece. it can be recognized by the €-recycling icon. Those items can be returned in any supermarket (sometimes special brands are only accepted in the markets of their origin) and you can get the money back.
For the part of the garbage that does not turn back into money we also have quite a set of rules:
Here the overview in english:
https://www.wien.gv.at/pdf/ma48/flugblatt-getrennte-sammlung-en.pdf but you can find the information in a lot of languages: https://www.wien.gv.at/kontakt/ma48-download-publikationen-informationsmaterial
Plastic, Metall and most packaging should be collected extra and put into one of the containers with yellow covers.
The next ones are in front of Billa in Liniengasse
The next Glass Containers are in front of the church in Gumpendorfer Strasse if you just walk down Sonnenuhrgasse
New Garbage Bags can be found in the bathroom in the top drawer of the black thing. (small ones for the bathroom and big ones for the main room)

In the area
Bread
The best baguettes (also sourdough baguettes!) and amazing bread and pastries you can find at l’amour du Pain in Otto-Bauer Gasse
Not only but also on Sunday mornings (until noon) The Bäckerei Hafner in Gumpendorfer Strasse is providing fresh bread for the area.
(super)markets
In close walking distance, you can find a BILLA, a SPAR, a PENNY and a Lidl. The next HOFER is at Mariahilfer Strasse.
Every thursday there is a little farmers market with very delicious organic goods at Kurt-Pint-Platz
weekends / late night
If you need food or snacks late at night, the closest place to get it is Schile Imbiss in Gumpendorfer Strasse which closes at 22:00.
The next one open even longer is at Oskar-Werner-Platz. They have basically everything, even tobacco products
Pharmacies & drugstores
The closest pharmacy is Nikolaus Apotheke
At night and on weekends, you can find the closest open pharmacy by searching here: https://www.nachtapotheke.wien/
choose 1060 as PLZ and then click „Nachtapotheken finden“ and you will get the next one that is open at that moment.
For basics like band-aids or supplements and any care products you can also go to BIPA or dm which both have quite good and affordable house brands

Laundry
While I will provide you with fresh towels and washcloths whenever needed. For getting your personal laundry clean, the closest laundromats are green&clean in Schönbrunner Strasse and Waschtreff Rudolfsheim. For dry cleaning and special things i recommend Hartmann Textilpflege in the area.
